With the promise to meet again next year, the two days Spark- career guidance fest today culminated here at the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium as the chief guest of the event Commissioner of Police Mr. Gupreet Singh Bhullar called upon the students to make three ingredients of success viz. hard work, concentration and perseverance an integral part of their lives.
Declaring the fest closed, the Commissioner of Police, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, underscored the need for imbibing these golden principles in life so that students could excel in their lives. He said that the students must focus on exercising self discipline and restraint upon themselves for becoming good citizens of the society. Citing the example of an aero plane, Mr. Bhullar asked the students to take off after fully gearing up to achieve the target.
The Commissioner of Police asked the students to fix their targets and then make whole hearted efforts for attaining it. Mr. Bhullar categorically said that the students have to now compete with their peers from across the globe so they should be fully equipped to meet this challenge. He said that there was no scope for lagging behind in this highly competitive era.
CP EXHORTS STUDENTS TO MAKE HARD WORK
Showering accolades on the Deputy Commissioner for organizing this mega event, the Commissioner of Police said that this event would go a long way in transforming the destiny of the students from the rural areas. He also complimented the Deputy Commissioner and his entire team for making strenuous efforts to evolve a foolproof mechanism for organizing this mega event.
Earlier welcoming the chief guest, the Deputy Commissioner apprised him about the motto of organizing this event. He said that sole aim was to enable the students from rural areas to have access to quality career guidance so that they could opt for their career thereby paving way for their bright future. Mr. Sharma expressed hope that the event would act as a catalyst in making the youth an active partners in economic and social growth of the state.
The Deputy Commissioner said that besides giving a major push to career related guidance to the students this fest would ensure holistic personality development of the students. Mr. Sharma said that major thrust of the event was to ensure quality career guidance to the students, who were on cross-roads for choosing their career.
DC HOPES THAT THE EVENT WOULD ACT AS A CATALYST IN MAKING YOUTH AN ACTIVE PARTNERS IN ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL GROWTH OF THE STATE
On the occasion, the Chief guest and Deputy Commissioner also felicitated the officers and other dignitaries for making the event a huge success. The Chief guest also honored the representatives of Lovely Professional University, GNA group, HDFC bank, ICICI bank, IVY World School, St. Soldier group of Institute, Innocent Hearts group of Institutions, Axis Bank, PNB Bank and others for sponsoring the event.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Paramvir Singh and Mr. Sanjiv Sharma, Assistant Commissioners Mr. Himanshu Jain and Dr Jai Inder Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Naveen Sharma, District Education Officer Mr. Satnam Singh, Deputy District Education Officer Ms. Gurpreet Kaur and Mr. Anil Sharma, District Guidance Counselor Mr. Surjit Lal, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.)
